Tamale: Residents arrest and hands over child kidnapper to police [Video]

Some vigilant residents of Sabonjida, a surbub in the Tamale Metropolis have arrested a man allegedly attempting to kidnap an eight (8) year old student of Hairiya Islamic School. TamaleOnline News can report.

The incident took place Wednesday morning at about 8:30am few minutes after Katali’s (victim) father had dropped her off at the school on a motorcycle.

The suspect believed to be his late 30s according an eye witness and Teacher of the victim, Baba Fuseini was sighted holding hands and speaking with his student.

He narrated the suspect left and returned some 20 minutes later and again holding hands with little Katali in an attempt to flee with her.

Mr. Fuseini said “I confronted him which resulted in a scuffle between us and he bolted.”

“I followed him up with a loud call thief thief and was able to apprehend him with the support of other residents,” Afa Baba Fuseini recounted.

After the arrest, a smart phone and two VVIP Tamale-Accra bound tickets for Wednesday evening were found on the suspect with a name tag Kassim on both tickets.

The suspect was dragged to the Tamale Regional Police for further investigations.
