A group known as Mandeiya Youth in the Tolon Constituency and aligned with the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have distributed over one thousand (1,000) locally-made nose mask to constituents participating in the ongoing voter registration exercise.
The distribution took place on Sunday, July 12, 2020 in the Tolon township and Gburimani, a community in the Tolon District.
It also served as an opportunity for the Group to monitor the exercise at various registeration centres in the constituency.
President of the Group, Beyom Nabila Sulemana said the gesture is aimed to complement the efforts of the Party’s parliamentary candidate, Alhaji Habib iddrisu to protect registrats against the spread of Covid-19.
“We carried out this exercise to support our winnable parliamentary candidate who had earlier made provisions for the fight against Covid-19.” He stated.
“We also see it as a duty to ensure that the registration exercise goes on smoothly and to provide these nose mask to registrats to protect themselves which forms part of protocols for registration,” Mr Suleman added.
He further indicated that the primary goal of the NPP Mandeiya Youth is to support ten thousand (10,000) people with nose masks in the coming days.
The Group intends to visit communities such as Chirifoyili, Lungbunga, Nyankpala and its environs to monitor and support registrants with the nose mask.
However, beneficiaries of the benevolence expressed gratitude to the Group especially during this pandemic.
Some of them who spoke with TamaleOnline News said it was a great gesture coming from the youth of the community.
