Two Non-Governmental Organisations have donated state of the art hospital equipment to the Tamale Teaching Hospital at to combat infant and maternal mortality in the Northern Region.
The two organizations, Jaksally Development Organisation and the Africa Health Suppliers made the donation of 3 pediatric machines worth thousands of Ghana Cedis to the maternity ward in the wake of shortage of health equipment across the country.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of Africa Health Suppliers, Mr Albert Ankrah said the gesture will boost the fight against infant mortality at the hospital.
For his part, Mr Seidu Jeremiah, CEO of the Jaksally Development Organisation also disclosed that the two NGOs will take staff of the hospital through some training following a plea by the management of the facility.
In appreciation of the kind gesture, the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr Karim Mumuni expressed his gratitude to the donors for the donation and called for more support to help the hospital function effectively.
