Waste collectors dump in front of homes at Dohanayili to fill erosion

Some waste collectors believed to be working with Zoom Lion Ghana have decided to depose off refuse collected into some degraded portions at Dohanayili, a suburb in the Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region.

TamaleOnline News’ Ziblila Zakiya Kwesidjan reported that, drivers of the tricycles confirmed the move is aimed to fill eroded areas caused by the rains.

According to Zakiya, the refuse are being washed into some homes and inner roads when it rains.

“It is unclear who directed them to offload the rubbish in the area but they said it was ment to fill the erosion in the area.

“They also indicated the Assembly Man for the area, Abdul Wahab Fuseini Ayamnaaya is swear of the their activity,” she reported.

Some residents fumed that, the activity is causing negative health implications for them especially those near the Atta Asibi Memorial House.

They have therefore called on the Mayor of Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior to put a stop to the menace.

However, efforts to speak to the Assemblyman for Dohanayili, Abdul Wahab Fuseini Ayamnaaya has proved futile.
