Residents of Nyankpala, a town in the Tolon District of the Northern Region have cried out to the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to provide them with water.
Access to portal drinking water remains a challenge for residents in the area especially during the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
Nyankpala has been battling water crisis for over a year and worsens during the dry season.
Residents of the town have no option but to fetch from holes dug in some of the community dugo-uts.
According to them, the situation has an effect on their health since the water is not treated with the right chemicals.
They also complained how they (mostly women) are compiled to trek several kilometers to fetch water at nearby villages for household use and other purposes.
However, they are therefore appealing to authorities at the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to fix the problem.
The residents have also placed a call on the Member of Parliament for the Tolon Constituency, Abdul-Wahab Wumbei and the Tolon District Assembly to help solve the perennial water crisis.
