Deputy Chief Executive of the Microfinance and Small Loans Center (MASLOC), Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama has disbursed One Million Ghana Cedis (GH¢1,000,000) to 750 businesses in Yendi to boast their businesses.
The beneficiaries who are segmented into 30 groups included farmers, transport operators, food and beverages, beauticians, fashion (seamstress) and other entrepreneurs in both formal and informal sector recieving various amounts to expand their businesses.
The loan facility offered them comes with six per cent (6%) interest and to be paid within six (6) months period.
Hajia Abiabata, an NPP aspiring parliamentary candidate for Yendi constituency said the support forms part of her quest to serving and alleviate the poverty levels of the people through personal and economic empowerment.
According to her, “this will enable build their livelihood and businesses.”
She also revealed the disbursement is the biggest fund support to businesses for the first time in the Northern Region.
Hajia Abiabata Shanni admonished beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds especially during the farming season, a major occupation in the North.
On their part, some elated beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Hajia Abibata for her intervention.
They also pledged to invest the funds carefully so they can pay back on time and also grow their enterprises.
